Sworn Translations

I have been a sworn translator in Poland since 2014. I officially certify translations of documents written in Russian. My translations are always accepted without any remarks by all government institutions, banks, and medical clinics. I follow the current transliteration rules and lead a working group of Cyrillic-language translators focusing on the proper spelling of parents’ names in Polish documents issued to foreigners.

Multiple Languages

I work with colleagues who are translators of other languages, which makes it possible to provide certified translations of bilingual or trilingual documents, or multiple documents in different languages, with consistent spelling of names, surnames, and geographical terms. I also provide expert opinions for courts and civil registry offices on correct transliteration of names, surnames, and geographical names.

Who Is a Sworn Translator?

In Poland and other EU countries, notaries do not certify translations — this is the role of a sworn translator, an official who holds a state license to certify document translations. The word "sworn" refers to the oath taken by the translator after successfully passing the national exam. The translator then receives an official seal and license number, which can be used to verify their credentials on the website of the Polish Ministry of Justice.

Document Translation

As a sworn translator, I prepare and certify translations of the following documents:
- birth, marriage, divorce, and death certificates
- civil registry certificates and documents
- bank statements
- tax declarations
- diplomas, school certificates, and other educational documents
- notarized contracts, powers of attorney, and consents
- licenses and permits
- employment-related documents, work books, certificates, and attestations
- any other documents issued in foreign countries bearing a stamp and signature

I also translate electronic documents (e.g., tax returns or employment documents in electronic form, or bank statements generated through online banking systems).

General Text Translation

If you need to translate a text that is not an official document — i.e., it doesn’t require a seal, signature, or issuing authority’s information — then this is considered a general translation. I translate academic theses, educational certificates, vaccination cards, job résumés, articles, and applications as plain text translations that do not require certification.

I also offer adaptation, localization, and transcreation services — writing content in another language in a way that makes it sound natural to the reader, not like a literal translation.
